It is with sadness that we announce our long-time parishioner Ken Hayman

passed away on 1st September 2021.  Our deepest condolences to Ken’s family.

Eternal rest grant unto Ken Hayman, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

The funeral service was on 13th September at 11am at OLA Pagewood Church.

The recording of the funeral service is on Joseph Medcalf Funerals’ tribute page.

Fr Daney Irudaya Doss and Deacon Rafael Silva Galicia have been busy refurbishing our Church/School Toilet Block.  Deacon Rafael has been contributing considerable skilled physical labour for which we are very grateful.

They have been making good use of  their skills and talents to update the toilet block during this lockdown time.

Many, many thanks to our volunteer John Heffernan as well. Until the restrictions, John Heffernan had also been  generously volunteering his skills, labour and time with the Toilet Block Alteration work. He is very valuable contributor and wonderful support to our parish. Earlier he had also organised the repairs to the Church Building broken windows (which was difficult) and fixed the presbytery front entry glass panels.

We are very fortunate and grateful to have such talented, skilled, resourceful and dedicated priest, deacon and volunteers.

Hopefully the newly re-furbished Toilet Block will be ready by the time the lockdown is over when the church may re-open for masses.

If you could make a monetary contribution to the Alteration Work of our parish’s Church/School Toilet Block, it would be most appreciated.

Confirmation 2021 for our parish children has been postponed.

  We continue to pray for these candidates, their families and teachers.

We give thanks to the Lord that Our Lady of the Annunciation Parish has been a place where we can meet  God;

in the Eucharist and grow together as a faith community.

The Pastors of this parish have been men of God, faithful stewards of the vineyard of the Lord with joyful and thankful hearts. May Our Blessed Mother protect all our Priests.

May Our Lady of the Annunciation keep us always in her loving care; and may she find in us a willingness to place ourselves wholeheartedly at the service of God and His Church, and a desire to find our peace in His unique plan for us.

St Vincent de Paul Pagewood Conference news:

In March 2021 Father Daney and Kate O’Regan (president of St Vincent de Paul Soc Pagewood Conference)  presented OLA Primary School Principle, Rose Andre, a cheque for $2000 to assist families at the school with school expenses such as school outings, uniforms etc.
The SVDP Eastern Regional Council have been offering schools in the area to participate in the programme for a few years now and hope it will be an ongoing concern.
